"Inspiration for the nation."

Yesterday, 6th March 2011, individuals from across the UK came together to Eastbourne to run the half marathon. The run incuded some very wearisome hills which tired out most of the runners but they continued to give their best. There were over 12 miles to run but all 1,135 contestants did fantastically. Not only did the providers come equipped with medals for all finishers but chocolate, drinks & fruit too. They were sponsered greatly by Reid + Dean.

The first to finish was James Baker from Chichester Runners AC with the time 1:14:18 according to Sport Systems. My Uncle ran it and came 477th with the time 1:53:37 which is brilliant as he had done "bits and bobs of traning." said a source close to the runner. Once he had finish he said "The hills were awful, but the rest was alright." The free gifts certainly helped!

There were many supporters spectating the event, even though the bitter weather was causing frost bite to most of them, they still cheered like never before. One supporter said "My husband is running it now and I feel so sorry for him! It must be so hard getting up those hills!" Some runners even started to dance to the singers and finally, all thanks to the bag piper who entertained runners who ran past the wish tower.

Congratulations to all participents!
